Title
Sunday 03/18/12 Outlook
Brief
Strong west-southwesterly winds will result in blowing dust in far West Texas, including the El Paso area, that could possibly raise PM10 levels to "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups", with highest concentrations in the afternoon and evening. Winds may also be strong enough to generate light amounts of blowing dust in parts of the Panhandle, including the Lubbock area, with the daily PM10 AQI possibly reaching "Moderate" levels. Smoke from agricultural burning in Mexico and Central America may return to South Texas, resulting in slightly increase fine particulate levels, though smoke production appears too light at this time to raise the daily AQI beyond the "Good" range. Elsewhere in the state, moderate to strong winds, increased cloud cover, and low incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
